===Research Notes===
Martha (Unknown) Sheriff is said to be the daughter of William Shreve and Audrey (Collet) Shreve. But no primary sources are provided by the adherents. There is an oblique reference to ancestry.com, not saying what ancestry.com provides, and as we all should know, this may be an unsourced fantasy by an ancestry.com contributor. Her surname should be changed to "Unknown" until concrete evidence suggests otherwise. I'm also sceptical of her suggested birth date, 1614, which is 6 years before the listed birth date of her first husband, Thomas Sheriff. (Comment by Gillby Weldon).

No Record of a Birth or Baptism at Family Search/FreeReg.

Martha was born about 1620. She died in 1691.

Martha married 1. Thomas Sheriff 2. Thomas Hazard and 3. Lewis Hues
After the death of Thomas Hazard, Martha married Lewis Hues, who soon abandoned her (on 22 March 1691[/2?], "Martha Hues, wife of Lewis Hues, made agreement with her son John Sheriff, which she had by former husband, whereas said Lewis Hues was lawfully married to his above named wife Martha, took an occasion privately to go away within six or seven weeks after he was married, taking away great part of her estate, that was hers in her former husband's time").{{FindAGrave|37073779|sameas=no}} /martha-shreive_hayward_hues

Inquisition Post Mortem of Elizabeth, late the wife of Reynold de Cobham, knight, following a Writ of 15 September, 49 Edward III [1375].A. E. Stamp, J. B. W. Chapman, Cyril Flower, M. C. B. Dawes and L. C. Hector, 'Inquisitions Post Mortem, Edward III, File 243', in Calendar of Inquisitions Post Mortem: Volume 14, Edward III (London, 1952), pp. 99-115. British History Online http://www.british-history.ac.uk/inquis-post-mortem/vol14/pp99-115. Inquisition Post Mortem of Elizabeth, late the wife of Reynold de Cobham, knight. Item 105.
She had held lands in Northamptonshire, Gloucestershire, Staffordshire, Salop, Wiltshire and Berkshire. She died on 7 August last [i.e. 07 Aug 1375].
Various lands she had held for life with Fulk Lestraunge, late her husband the son and heir of John Lestraunge [2nd Lord Strange] of Blakemere, Shropshire, or held by way of dower. Fulk and Elizabeth had no issue. The Inquisition was rather confused about the heir in theses cases but the Wiltshire entry appears to be the most accurate in that the heir was [[Strange-758|Elizabeth le Strange]] the granddaughter of John Lestraunge [4th Lord Strange], the brother of Fulk. The heir Elizabeth le Strange was described as aged one year on the feast of St. Nicholas last.
Other lands she had held jointly with John de Ferrers, formerly her husband. In these cases the heir was her son Robert de Ferrers, aged 17 or 18 years on 31 October last.

Robert de Ferrers, 4th Baron Ferrers of Chartley

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Robert de Ferrers, 4th Baron Ferrers of Chartley (c. 1358 – 1413) was the son of John de Ferrers, 3rd Baron Ferrers of Chartley and Elizabeth de Stafford, a daughter of Ralph de Stafford, 1st Earl of Stafford and Margaret de Audley.
He inherited the title of Baron Ferrers of Chartley upon his father's death at the Battle of Nájera on 3 April 1367 but was never summoned to parliament.
Robert married Margaret Le Despenser (born around 1360) a daughter of Edward le Despencer, 1st Baron le Despencer, KG, and Lady Elizabeth Burghersh.
The couple had one son Edmund, who became Edmund de Ferrers, 5th Baron Ferrers of Chartley upon the death of his father around 1412, and one daughter Philippa, who married Sir Thomas Greene, Sheriff of Northamptonshire (10 February 1399 – 18 January 1462), by whom she was the mother of Sir Thomas Green. Philippa and Sir Thomas are ancestors to Queen consort Catherine Parr, the last wife of King Henry VIII.[1]
Robert de Ferrers, 4th Baron Ferrers of Chartley died sometime around 1413 and is buried at Merevale Abbey in Warwickshire

==Biography==
"the peerage" death date 1316.
:http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=veryflatcat3&id=I8742 Sir William Blount on Rootsweb]The first Lord Mountjoy descended, through younger sons in several generations, from William le Blund (Blundus-fair-haired), who married Isabel, widow of Henry Lovet, of Elmley Lovet and Hampton Lovet, co. Worcester which Henry died under age about 1256. William le Blund and his brother Walter were accused in August 1265, before the commissioners appointed under the Dictum of Kenilworth, of unlawful violence at Quinton, Northants. Tradition says that the abovesaid Isabel was a Beauchamp (d). The record of the assizes held at Worcester, 1275, contains several references to William le Blund. He was there pledge for [his stepson] John Lovet, and (since there is no differentiating description of either) is presumably the William le Blund who, was son and heir of John le Blund, son and heir of Walter le Blund, was found to be heir to lands in Doverdale (a parish adjoining Hampton Lovet) which had belonged to Amice, daughter of the said Walter. The abovesaid William and Isabel, in addition to their Worcestershire property, held the manor of Belton in Rutland, and there seems to have been a close connection between this family and the family of the same name in Hanslope, Bucks. William le Blund appears to have died in the Spring of 1280. His widow was living in February 1322/3. All please NOTE: " my said son Joseph shall have half the tenement wherein I now live and half the lands thereto belonging equal with his Mother, during her terms in the Lease." As Quakers, this direct quote from Robert's will tells me that Joseph is a son of this Mary! gfb

Biography
Robert Baker was born 17 June 1611 at Newport, Shropshire, England. The Treece Family Tree and several other websites listed below in the Sources section name his parents as Robert and Ann Baker, about whom almost nothing is known.
Robert is the progenitor of a very large family of Bakers who left England in 1684 to settle in Chester County, Pennsylvania, on land provided by the family of William Penn.
Alleged Descent from Sir Richard Baker the Chronicler
Robert is supposed to have been descended from Sir Richard Baker the Chronicler, who wrote a history of the Kings of England. We have not been able to establish this descendancy, but it is still under research.
In the past, several genealogists have said that the Baker siblings were the children of a John Baker, not Robert, but the will makes it fairly clear that Robert is the father.
The Hearth taxes of the Manor of Edgmond in 1671 show that John and his family lived in one house with one hearth; and that Joseph and his mother (and presumeably three younger sisters) lived in another house with one hearth.
In 1672, after the death of Robert, Mary, his widow, signed a fostering agreement with a Walter Littleton for the tuition and education of Hanna, Sarah and Mary, who are minors. The other children who did not emigrate in 1684 presumeably were married and settled elsewhere than Edgmond. After 1684 there were no Bakers left in Edgmond.
After coming to the New World, John died in 1685, shortly after his arrival in Philadelphia. Joseph, now head of the family, bought and sold several parcels of land, and at some time before 1699, bought 500 acres in Chester (now Delaware County). This was in Edgmont township, to which he probably gave the name, after his home in Shropshire.
Joseph was elected to be a member of the Pennsylvania Assembly several times. The Bakers of Edgmont married and proliferated, many staying in the area, where they still have descendants, while others moved west and helped to build the new country.
Will of Robert Baker of Edgmond, Salop (Shropshire)
